The bizarre horror-mystery-action-adventure makes its way to PC…with enough votes, of course.
Starting today, Steam users can vote for the cult title on the Greenlight page – and with enough votes, it might just make it to the Steam Store. Originally released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and a Director’s Cut release for PS3 earlier this year, players control FBI special agent Francis York Morgan as he solves the murder of a young girl in the small town of Greenvale. The title received incredibly mixed responses from critics and gamers alike for its control, visuals, performance and bizarre tonal shifts. Despite this, it met cult success due to its strange charms and similarities to David Lynch and Mark Frost’s equally bizarre television show Twin Peaks.
The PC version will feature multiple upgrades and additions, including a new scenario, enhanced HD graphics with new textures, reworked controls, and plenty of DLC content to add to the mystery. If the game is Greenlit, this might shape up to be the ultimate version to own.
Having recently started watching Twin Peaks for the first time, I can’t wait to give this one a go – it’s unfortunately never been released here in New Zealand, but this might be just the trick for those who have never had a chance to play or love it enough to revisit the strange world of Deadly Premonition!
