Rumor: Gran Turismo 6 on the way for PS3?

Is the next edition of Sony’s realistic racing series headed to the PS3?

Online retailer Newegg let slip a listing for the game earlier today reported website IGN, but that’s not the most surprising part of the ‘news’. A sixth entry in the popular PlayStation exclusive racing series was probably a foregone conclusion after all, especially since it’s been pretty openly discussed in the recent past. The big shock though, is that the listing was for the PS3.

That’s actually more than a little surprising considering that the PS4 will be on store shelves this Autumn and it would seem that a game as big as Gran Turismo would be a perfect fit for a launch title. Of course, there’s always the possibility that the game will be available for both consoles, though that does seem a little counter-productive.

E3 is not all that far away now, so stay tuned race fans.
