The comic book version of the Iron Spider armor comes to life from Sideshow

Civil War’s Iron Spider armor is undeniably one of Spidey’s most striking costumes. And now its coming home thanks to Sideshow.

Premium armor

Personally, and web-shooters aside, I’ve always thought of Spider-Man as a more low-tech hero. That’s a concept that was turned on its head though, thanks to the celebrated Civil War storyline from Marvel Comics.

In the massive event series, the Web-Head joined Stark’s side of the conflict, donning a suit of armor. This was unlike anything Spidey had ever worn before too, complete with Iron Man-like colors and a set of massive deployable spider-legs. While it might’ve been a bit polarizing for some fans, you can’t say it wasn’t unique, and more than a little cool.

While there have been figures of the suit before, Sideshow has just taken the wraps off of a Premium Format Figure. If you’re familiar with the line, then you know what that means. And if you have no idea what it is, well just know that it translates to the Iron Spider getting a gigantic statue with all the trimmings.

The Iron Spider Premium Format Figure is fully sculpted and features a gravity-defying design thanks to the physics-minded inventors Peter Parker and Tony Stark (and Sideshow’s own artists, of course!).

Painted in a dazzling, metallic red and gold Stark-inspired color scheme, the Iron Spider Suit has three large, highly detailed mechanical arms to support Spider-Man’s acrobatic heroics. The dramatic base features rubble and jagged rock overlaid with a spider web design.

The attention-grabbing Iron Spider Premium Format Figure is sure to be a centerpiece in any fan’s collection.

Sideshow press release

Like what you see? Well, if you want to add the Iron Spider to your own collection, you’ll be happy to know you can pre-order one right now via Sideshow.

The statue is set to ship some time in the third quarter of this year (2023) and is priced in at $695 USD. Grab one here.
