Fresh from Black Adam, McFarlane’s got Shazam: Fury of the Gods figures on the way

It’s kind of a great time to be a Shazam fan. Not only did we just get a Black Adam film, but there’s more of the big red cheese coming up too.

Just say the word

It sure feels like the DCU has already been relaunched. Not only did Black Adam bring back Henry Cavill as Superman, but it established a bunch of heavy-hitting new heroes and villains. And in its wake, DC has a new direction, a pair of new leaders, and a whole host of retooling going on. It’s pretty exciting, even if you’re a fan (like me).

But even with all of the new stuff coming up, there are still some vestiges of the “DCEU” to get through. One of those is pretty clearly the followup to Shazam, Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Once again with Zach Levi in the title role, Shazam: Fury of the Gods will bring a new host of bad guys to bear against the Marvel Family (or whatever it’s going to be called). If you already have that McFarlane DC shelf cranking, then you’re going to be happy to see that the artist’s company will indeed be delving back into the film slate for a new version of Shazam.

As you can see, this new edition of the hero comes decked out in his revamped costume, which I personally like a lot more than the original. As with McFarlane’s other figures in the series too, he’s set to feature 22 points of articulation, and stand in at the 7″ scale. He’s also packing extra hands, some lightning bolts (natch’), and the standard DC Multiverse trading card and stand.

Priced in at $19.99 USD, Shazam is set to land this coming February. He’s also up for pre-order via our sponsors at Entertainment Earth right now.
