Nintendo Download: The World of Pokémon Has Evolved!

Gotta catch ’em all… again. Two huge Holiday releases hit the Switch this week for Nintendo fans, with the arrival of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Hope you like Pocket Monsters

This is a big week for Pokemon fans, though not really for anyone else. That’s more or less the case, since the Switch’s big arrivals are the twin titles, and additional launches are all decidedly of the B and C level.

Still, Pokemon is a big time series, and one of the anchors for Nintendo as goes Holiday Season 2022. That’s a given, since the series of monster-catching ‘n’ battling games is one of the publisher’s mainstays.

Both Scarlet and Violet sets players on a journey through the Paldea region of Pokemon’s fantasy world. Opening selections include Sprigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly as your traveling partner. Aside from the usual, both games also include Terastal Phenomenon, which imbues certain beasts you run across with “special power”.

Again though, other than Pokemon there isn’t much. Just Dance hits with its yearly installment, along with with rogue-like Bravery and Greed, and Finding Paradise. The latter there is a tear-jerker that tasks players with helping dying patients relive misspent portions of their lives, to fix things that went wrong the first time around.

Here’s the full list of what’s coming:

Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly as your first partner Pokémon and set off on your journey in a vibrant and expansive open world – one welcoming to expert Trainers and newcomers alike. There is no set path on your Paldea adventure, so you can weave freely through your Treasure Hunt consisting of three grand stories.
