Dark-fantasy FPS Graven finishes Early Access updates in time for Halloween

The spookiest season is rolling, and so is 3D Realms, Fulqrum Publishing, and Slipgate Ironworks’ Graven, right into its final Early Access update.

Back for more

A dark-fantasy, horror-tinged title, Slipgate Ironworks’ FPS Graven has been in Early Access for some time. Of course, during that time it’d been building towards a ‘final’ version, and it so happens that the game is at that point. Yep, just in time for a little Halloween play through.

The third and final update for Graven, today’s content includes a bevy of improvements and additions. Those include a new level hub, the flooded Library of Cruxfirth, new stuff to find, and a whole new side-quest.

In all, the 3rd update includes:

  • Wander through the winding, flooded repository beneath the Library of Cruxfirth, the first of three hubs launching in the full game
  • A new side quest to unravel
  • New pickups and breakables to discover
  • The devious new Skeleton Sapper enemy
  • Proof of the afterlife among the most unfortunate denizens of Cruxfirth

But that’s not all, as Graven is building up even more, as it quests into its full retail launch. Slipgate has added in “enhanced combat and AI”, plus tacked on a pair of new difficulty options. Those look like they’ll be aimed at the two ends of the player-spectrum, with Casual and “Flagellant”.

With all of this added to the mix, Graven is still available via Early Access, by way of Steam, GOG, and Epic. When that final version hits though, you can also expect to see the game arrive for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, plus the Switch. Look for that in 2023.
