Nintendo Download: Aria of the Sparks

The wait is over, and Ubisoft’s sequel to Mario+Rabbids is here, bringing more of the strategic, turn-based action that made the original a hit.

Gives ’em hope

Yes, it’s time once again to dive into the gaming multiverse, for a return to the weird (but great) mashup that is Mario+Rabbids. If you missed the original, Kingdom Battle set the Mario Bros and friends up for one of their most unique adventures ever. That being turn-based strategy.

Not exactly a genre that you think of when you think “Mario”, but Ubisoft was cooking with gas when it came to this one. Not only did the formula work, but it (in my opinion) produced one of the best TBS titles ever seen on a console. And now it’s back.

Sparks of Hope picks up where the original left off, but brings in some new elements. Included now are Sparks, which can turn the tide of battle, and free-roaming in the game’s many worlds. It’s looking great, and should be a nice tentpole game for Nintendo this holiday season.

If, for some reason, it’s not your cup of Joe though, there’s plenty more this week to take up your leisure time. Other releases include New Tales from the Borderlands, Persona 5 Royal, the latest Jackbox Party Pack, Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, and Teef, and of course the usual assortment of (sometimes dubious) smaller launches.

Scroll down to check ’em all out.
