Check out the latest Hot Toys unboxing, of the Star Wars Death Trooper (Black Chrome)

Clad in Black Chrome, the upcoming Imperial Death Trooper from Hot Toys is looking great. Get an in-depth look with the latest Hot Toys unboxing.

Remember the ‘zombie’ DT’s?

I think it’s probably safe to think of the Imperial Death Troopers as ‘newer’ additions to the Star Wars mythos. They debuted with Rogue One after all, which means they’ve only been around since 2016.

With gleaming black armor, the decidedly not-undead Imperial troop type served as a personal guard to Director Krennic. But as we were to find out, they actually were a bit more wide-spread than just a glorified Death Star trooper. The Death Troopers popped up again in The Mandalorian, and have become a fan favorite, with plenty of action figures and collectibles seeing release.

The latest is likely the best looking piece yet, so of course it comes from Hot Toys. Cast in the company’s 12″ scale, the upcoming DT is highly detailed, and has some LED light-up features included. If you remember a Death Trooper from Hot Toys hitting the market already, you’re correct. That one though, didn’t have Black Chrome. And as you’ll see, it’s a pretty fantastic addition to what’s an already great looking figure.

Here’s a detailed look, courtesy of Hot Toys’ retailing partner Sideshow:

The Death Trooper (Black Chrome) is coming up fast, with a release window that counts this month through December. So you’ll likely be able to get one before the end of the year. Oh, and to that effect, pre-orders are still open as well.
