Ogres are coming to Total War: Warhammer III (plus we’ve got the launch date and Game Pass reveal)

Sega and Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer III is set to arrive on the PC this February. And if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, it’s included.

There’s actually quite a big to, uh, digest here. The actual reveal of the Ogres is just a part of the story, as Total War: Warhammer III features the barbarous race as a bonus.

To get them, you’ll have to buy and play the game some time in the first week of its release. That’s it. Just do that, and you’ve got the Ogres included in your game, for free. Take that as you will.

The Ogre Kingdoms Race Pack has also been revealed as the early-adopter bonus for the forthcoming title. Any player who orders Total War: WARHAMMER III in advance, or buys it during the first week on sale, will gain access to this additional content for free*.

This Race Pack unleashes the Ogre Kingdoms and their two Legendary Lords – Greasus Goldtooth & Skrag the Slaughterer – into the grand campaign, enabling players to lead an army of colossal warriors and primeval monsters in search of plunder, gold, and meat for their insatiable bellies.

In battle, these brutes excel at bombarding the enemy with long-range firepower before cascading upon their broken ranks with a devastating charge from their monstrous cavalry. Within the campaign they wage bloody war from their nomadic camps deep within the Mountains of Mourn, ever keen to take on bountiful contracts and add illustrious big names to their titles.

*The Ogre Kingdoms early-adopter bonus must be purchased from SEGA accredited retailers. Xbox Game Pass owners can purchase this content separately from the Microsoft Store. See the Total War Blog for more details.

Game Pass? Yep.

In some interesting news, the PC version of Game Pass will indeed be getting Total War: Warhammer III at launch. So if you’re a subscriber to that (or Ultimate), then you’ll get to hit that download button as a part of your plan.

As mentioned above though, the Ogres pack isn’t included. So if you want that, then you’ll have to either buy it separately, or buy and play the retail edition of the game in week 1, which’ll get you the beastly army for free.

As to when you’ll be able to so some (or all) of this, it’s February 17th, 2022. That’s when Total War: Warhammer III hits the PC.
