A Boy and His Blob coming to Switch this fall

Oozing onto the Nintendo Switch in short order is A Boy and His Blob. The Wii title will be making the jump, but is just the beginning of a new series.

Blobby

Do you remember A Boy and His Blob from the Wii? Crafted by side-scrolling 2D masters Wayforward, the puzzle game made its debut in 2009. Since then though, it has appeared on a bunch of modern(ish) consoles, though nothing either current or last generation.

Well, that’s about to change, since Ziggurat has picked up the license, and will be publishing the title on the Nintendo Switch. As you’ll see, the new version of the title sports that same hand-drawn look as before, plentiful alien landscapes to traverse, and of course, jellybeans.

“We are delighted to announce this new Switch version of the game, which is just the start of our long-term commitment to the A Boy and His Blob universe,” said Michael Devine, SVP of Business Development at Ziggurat. “Games like Blob only come along once in a great while and we are absolutely thrilled to continue Blob’s journey with our friends at WayForward for new and old audiences alike.”

While this is the first Blob title in a while, as you can see it won’t be the last. That’s good to see, as it’s a classic series that first kicked off in the NES days, and has never really gotten its due.

Stay tuned for that, and in the meantime watch for A Boy and His Blob some time this fall on the Switch.
