Coming up: The games of March 2020

The first big month of the year? Yeah. Doom Eternal finally hits this month, as well as Animal Crossing, MLB The Show, Half-LIfe: Alyx, and Nioh 2.

Big time

Hell has returned. One of the biggest nudges from 2019, Doom Eternal is finally coming to consoles and the PC this month. It’s been a long road, but the game is looking great, and is set to bring a collector’s edition packed with a replica Doom Slayer helmet too. But it’s not all that’s coming up.

Nintendo fans are pumped for a slightly calmer play, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The game picks up the classic AC formula, and adapts it for the Switch with a fresh story that sees you living life on a tropical isle.

While those two are probably the biggest launches of March 2020, there’s a ton of slightly lesser stuff too. MLB The Show 20 (maybe the last year for PS exclusivity?), Nioh 2, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and more are all on the schedule.

I feel kind of odd calling a Half-Life game “lesser”, but I’m going to do just that for Half-Life: Alyx, which also arrives this month. It’s a virtual reality-only title remember, and I’d feel equally odd saying it’d be one of the biggest March releases.
