NetherRealm’s DC Comics fighting game sequel got a little bigger today with the release of longtime Titan Starfire.
Cosmic
One of the most popular and longest running members of the Teen Titans, Starfire is a powerhouse. An alien that can wield energy blasts and fly, she’s a solid addition to the cast of Injustice 2, which also recent;y added in Bizarro as a Premium Skin for Superman. Fitting.
The game keeps on chugging, with some very neat DLC. And this stuff is no filler either. The downloadable content for I2 has been building out the already impressive selection of heroes and villains. Half of that is the Premium Skin selection, which adds in characters by effectively putting them in-game as skins for already available fighters – complete with new voices and animations. It’s a pretty terrific idea, and one that fans seem to be eating up.
But even so, it’s full-on downloadable characters like Starfire that are the main event. So far, they’ve been pretty good too, with Starfire here joining Red Hood and Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero. And even though I might not have been crazy about Subby invading the Injustice U, well he honestly does look pretty cool. No pun intended.
Starfire is available as of today, if you’re the owner of the Injustice 2 Ultimate Pack or Fighter Pack #1 for either the Xbox One or PS4 version of the game.
