Obsidian’s Tyranny Released on Steam

In Tyranny, the law of evil is yours to enforce

Obsidian Entertainment has brought us a lot of amazing games over the years. South Park: The Stick of Truth, Knights of the Old Republic 2, and Fallout New Vegas. In recent years, however, instead of working with preexisting IP, it has begun to branch into creating its own IP. Back in 2015, they released the well received Pillars of Eternity, the result of a successful Kickstarter. Now, they have released another new IP, Tyranny, the result of a partnership with Paradox Interactive.

The world of Tyranny is a very dark one. Evil has prevailed and the overlord Kyros has brought the entire world under their heel. While there are still rebellions, Kyros has the means to put them down via Fatebinders. The enforcers of Kyros’ will that act as judge, jury and executioner. Forged out of the ranks of Kyros’ defeated enemies, Fatebinders keep Kyros’ captured territories in order. The player will take the role of a Fatebinder, acting as a servant of Kyros. How you choose to enforce Kyros’ will is up to you.

Tyranny is set up to be a very long game with a great deal of replay value. Each playthrough is meant to feel different. So far, it seems to be very well received. User reviews on Steam, and general reviews on Metacritic are painting it in a very favorable light.  It is currently available on Steam for PC and Mac. It’s price tag is currently $44.99.
