Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse released in NA today

Return to the ruins of Tokyo one last time!

SMT is a long running series that originated in Japan and made its way overseas. The latest installment of the series, SMT IV Apocalypse, was released at the start of the year, with a long wait before it came overseas. While fans in Europe have to wait, North American fans do not. The game has officially been released in North America as of today.

Shin Megami Tensei 4 was released back in May of 2013, making it the first SMT game originally released on the 3DS. SMT IV Apocalypse acts as an alternate take to the original SMT IV. Mirroring events from the original, Apocalypse takes the story in a brand new direction with a brand new protagonist.

The game features several design choices that were a direct response to criticisms from IV. Partners can now be swapped out, the overworld map has been improved, and new designs have been created. So far, it seems that these changes have been received with general approval.
