Deadpool and the Mercs for Money was just the beginning. You haven’t seen anything until you’ve met Solo. Be there for his first ongoing series when SOLO #1 comes to comic shops and digital devices on October 12th!

From hero to merc to hero

Live and learn; I actually had no idea that Marvel’s other merc was even back in action. Still, it’s cool to see him again.

If you don’t know, Mr green-jeans here first popped up in the 90s. He crossed over into a few mid-size Marvel events, mainly in Spider-Man titles from what I remember. And I don’t think he ever had his own book.

With a good, solid creative team behind him though, a Solo book could be a winner. His mantra used to be ‘while Solo lives, terror dies’, which made him a decidedly anti-terror hero. That was, and still would be, a pretty different track for a superhero. I’m happy to see that it’s still an element here in his return, the sentiment being right there in the title.

Not that the first arc sounds like it really focuses on terrorism all that much. Alien weapons and thugs aren’t really synonymous with the theme. Still though, this is just the opener, and it’d be cool to see the book head in that direction.

Fingers crossed, looks like it could be pretty cool, and Marvel is promising all-out action.
