The long awaited successor to Final Fantasy XIII is on the horizon.
Confirmed in a Square Enix blog post, by the director of FFXV Hajime Tabata, the game will be released in 2016.
Starting development as Final Fantasy XIII Versus, FFXV has been in development for an extended cycle, lasting years. The game will feature an open world and an action based combat system.
The Final Fantasy series is one of the most beloved of all times, in a general sense, as well as by myself. Here’s to hoping that FFXV can match the epic scale achieved by Final Fantasy VII and X, and the story grasp exhibited by Final Fantasy IV.
Final Fantasy XV will be available for PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One when it releases.
