SAG-AFTRA: VIDEO GAME VOICE ACTORS MAY STRIKE

It’s no question that voice acting has shaped the way we experience video games, however earlier this week news broke that our favorite voice actors may be going on strike.

SAG-AFTRA has been trying to make negotiations for a better contract between video game performers and video game companies, but they still haven’t been met as of June 23, 2015.

Down below are a list of issues that the union is fighting for:

  • Performance Bonuses
  • Vocal Stress
  • Stunt Coordinator on Performance Capture Volume
  • Transparency

For more detailed information head on over to SAG-AFTRA’s “What We Stand For”page.

Brutal Gamer reached out to SAG-AFTRA for a comment in response to the possibility of a strike, but received the following reply in an e-mail:

SAG-AFTRA declines comment due to our ongoing negotiations and mutually agreed upon blackout.”

We hope this situation comes to a peaceful resolution soon for those involved.
