SDCC 2015: New Transformers: Devastation trailer rolls out

Transformers: Devastation from Activision and Platinum Games is pretty much the closest thing to a playable version of the classic Transformers G1 cartoon show, and my oh my does it look spectacular.

Yeah… that’s on the pick up list. Of course, I’m primarily a G1 fan of Transformers, but the game really does looks pretty special. Not only is it being developed by Platinum Games, so you know the gameplay will be well put together, but that graphic engine. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen cel shading as convincing as that. It actually looks like a cartoon.

As you can see too, there are a lot more characters shown in this new trailer than we’d seen previously. Shockwave alone is pretty freaking awesome, and wow is it great to hear Frank Welker voicing Megatron again. Of course, you won’t be playing as Megs or any other Decepticon in the campaign mode, as Autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Grimlock, and Wheeljack make up the roster of playable characters.

One to definitely watch, Transformers: Devastation arrives on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC later this year.
