Release date and totally rad pre-order goodies announced for THPS 5

Go behind the scenes on the next title in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series in this new trailer, and see what’ll be happening when the game hits consoles in terms of pre-order bonuses this Fall (hint* it involves a hoverboard).

Believe it or not, it’s been 13 years since there was a numbered Tony Hawk title that saw release on consoles. I know. Let it sink in, then just move on because the drought is about to come to an end.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is set to arrive on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 this September the 29th, and it’s got a firm focus on some online skating. The title will sport online arenas for up to 20 gamers via the Xbox One and PS4 versions, and will come loaded up with the same fast, arcade-like gameplay that made the classic editions such hits with fans like challenges, unlocks, and competitive matches. And then it also offers that create-a-park mode, which you’re anything like me, will probably eat away hours of your time.

And on top of all that, the game is also bringing a load of pre-ordery goodness with it, if you should plunk down your cash for the game early via GameStop. Gamers who pre-order a copy for their system of choice at the retail gaming giant will receive the Totally Rad 80’s Pack to add onto their version of the game.

The pack includes a skin of Tony Hawk replicating him from his heyday in 1986 (which you’ll be able to use in all game modes), an 80’s Inspired ‘Birdhouse’ board, and (here’s the best part) an Anti-Gravity Board like the one seen in a certain time-traveling 80’s classic movie. Yep.

Okay, go pre-order.
