Dead Drop #1 sends Aric against a deadly virus in Valiant’s latest team-up book

Terrorists and a virus capable of wiping out mankind, just another day for X-O Manowar.

There is a secret black market in New York. It is hidden in plain sight – in our streets, trains, restaurants. Those who know how to navigate it exchange secrets of extraordinary nature. But when the secret in circulation is a biological weapon derived from Vine technology, the gloves are off – and the most extraordinary agents are released to stop the disaster before it occurs.

Otherwise, in less than thirty minutes, there will be no world to come back to.

X-O Manowar, Archer, Neville Alcott, Detective Cejudo and Beta-Max are ready to save the world.

Although it does look like this specific issue of the new four-part series from Valiant Comics focuses on Aric (otherwise known as X-O Manowar), as you can see, there are a bunch more of Valiant’s best set to take part in Dead Drop. It’s kind of an interesting team too, with the godlike X-O joined by Archer, Unity’s Alcott, Cejudo (from Quantum and Woody), and Beta-Max.

As with most of the stuff Valiant has been doing, this book breaks the mould a little and definitely takes some chances with that lineup. Also as with most things that the company does though, it sounds like it might be a winner with a very interesting take on the usual limited series formula. Unlike the standard overarching story, each issue of Dead Drop will have its own story to tell, with all of them set against the singular ticking clock of armageddon that the virus they’re hunting presents.

It all starts when the first issue of Dead Drop lands on the stands on May 6th, from the team of Ales Kot and Adam Gorham.
