Crunchyroll brings anime aplenty to the Wii U

Do you like anime? Hooked on a particular series of awesomely animated action form the far east? Then you might be pleasantly surprised to see that video-provider Crunchroll is now available on the Nintendo Wii U.

25,000 episodes in total, which equal up to be about 15,000 hours of programming are now avaialbal efor viewing on the Wii U, courtesy of Crunchyroll. One of the biggest and most watched platforms globally for anime and Japanese dramas, Crunchyroll has an excellent reputation for housing some of the best of the best shows in their stable.

If you’re a Wii U owner, you’ve now got access to the likes of Naruto Shippuden, One Piece, Sword Art Online, and Hunter x Hunter. The app is a free download for the console, though you do have to be a ‘premium’ member of the service to enjoy content. Once you’ve got the software on your Wii U (and you’ve signed up of course), you’ll be able to all the newest episodes of your favorite shows in as little time as one hour after they’ve aired in Japan, which is actually pretty incredible. And the best part is that they’re all ad-free.

Not a bad proposition if you’re home this New Year’s week and looking for something to occupy your time. And who knows, you just might find a brand new addiction.
