NYCC 2014: The Valiant animated trailer debuts

From the looks of The Valiant, Valiant Comics mini-series set to hit at the end of the year, things are going to bloody as a new team rises to take on an old evil.

The Eternal Warrior has protected the Earth for more than 10,000 years. A master of countless weapons and long forgotten martial arts, he is guided by the Geomancers – those who speak for the Earth. During his long watch, the Eternal Warrior has failed three times. Each time, the Geomancer was killed…and a new dark age for humanity began. Each time, he was unable to stop The Immortal Enemy – a monstrous force of nature. A civilization killer. A horror that appears differently each time it arrives…and whose seemingly only purpose is to bring disorder and darkness to the world. Now, the time has come for The Immortal Enemy to return once more. But, this time, the Eternal Warrior will be ready. This time, he has a force greater than any single warrior. This time, he has…THE VALIANT.

Pretty awesome little trailer right there huh? Take a read through the preview pages below and it gets even better. Paolo Rivera’s art brings these characters to life like never before and I don’t recall Gilad looks as flat-out awesome as he does here anywhere else, even in the pages of Unity.

Of course, as you read, The Valiant isn’t just about the Eternal Warrior. There’s a pretty big cross-section of heroes and villains from Valiant’s stable included here, and it just might take all of them to stop what’s something of a mystery in and of itself- a civilization killer that’s looking to send the Earth back into a dark age.

Maybe Vaiant’s biggest book yet, The Valiant starts off this December the 10th with The Valiant #1 before the company goes headlong into 2015 and the Valiant Next series of brand new books like Ivar, Timewalker, Bloodshot Reborn, and Ninjak.
