Aliens: Fire and Stone begins the xenomorphic leg of Dark Horse’s latest crossover event

The Fire and Stone min-series event will tie together Prometheus, Aliens, AvP, and Predator before all is said and done. Here in Aliens: Fire And Stone #1 though, it’s all about the xeno.

During a vicious xenomorph outbreak, terraforming engineer Derrick Russell leads a desperate group of survivors onto a rickety mining vessel. They hope to escape the creatures overrunning their colony—but they’ll face horrors both in space and on the strange planet they crash on. Ties in with the Prometheus and Aliens films!

Dark Horse Comics is touting Aliens: Fire and Stone as a brand new direction for the long running Alien franchise of series’ that the publisher has already got in its stable. I’m a pretty big fan of what they’ve done in the past with the brand (and Predator too for that matter), so it’l be interesting to see just what that means exactly.

From what we see here in this preview stir for the book, it does look like a series that should disappoint no one who’s into 20th Century Fox’ action/horror films, or what’s come before from Dark Horse. Though it really just started up too, Fire and Stone has already made some bold moves with Prometheus and just the fact that Dark Horse is tying all the loose strands of that film, Aliens, and Predator all together in a knot is awesome from the prospective of  fan. I can’t wait to see what else they do with it.

Aliens: Fire and Stone #1 arrives on the racks and on Dark Horse Digital on September 24th from the team of Chris Roberson and Patric Reynolds, click the thumb to the left for a full preview.
