Borderlands 2 officially unveiled for PS Vita along with bundle pack

2K Games and Gearbox’ FPS/RPG juggernaut sequel goes mobile with a PS Vita version and a bundle pack with the new 2.0 Vita console this Spring.

So it appears that the rumor (and Twitter flub) from not all that long ago was indeed a fact and Borderlands 2 is on the way to the PlayStation Vita… and then some. MCV is reporting today that the game will feature the same title that originally hit the PS3 as well as the Xbox 360 and PC in 2013, but with the addition of all six DLC expansions.

Also included in the handheld B2 experience is four-player co-op (wouldn’t be Borderlands without it), cross-play and save support with the PS3 version. Alongside the game in the new bundle will be an 8GB memory card and the newly redesigned PS Vita itself. Already out in the UK, this new edition of Sony’s latest handheld is slimmer and lighter than the current model and features longer battery life and 1GB of internal memory- which is a definite upgrade.

The pack will reportedly retile for about $200 USD and should boost sales of the somewhat flagging console a bit. Also perhaps helping on that front is that Sony announced a new spate of PS classic titles that’ll be coming to the Vita right alongside Borderlands 2. Gamers can look forward to God of War 1 & 2 and the full lineup of PS2 Sly Cooper games before long.

No word yet on whether or not those will see retail releases or if they’ll be PSN exclusives, but we’ll keep you posted. As for when the Borderlands 2 bundle will be hitting; expect it some time this Spring.
