Saturday Radar: GamesRadar’s Best for the week of 10/07/13

It’s an interesting weekly wrap this week as we see some games that sound naughty (should you be so inclined) but really aren’t, a look at Battlefield 4’s dogtags and why they’re so great and a little more GTAV love with a visit to the spoilercast.

Game names that sound sexual if you have a dirty mind

So this is purely for the comedy value, there isn’t any thing hard hitting here (is that innuendo?)- but it is kind of funny. Some of the games cited are stretches even if you do have a dirty mind, but a few are comedy gold and some I ever forgot about completely.

How do you like Ballz 3D: The Battle of the Balls? Wet? Snake Eater? And then there’s Seaman… ahem.

Anyway, click on through and read the funnies. I dare you not to laugh at the screenshot from Alone in the Dark by the way. It’s hard to believe I actually used to think those monsters were scary.

Why Battlefield 4’s dogtags are the most satisfying rewards in video games

This is a pretty great piece that’s more about the great gaming memories that Battlefield as a series has brought than anything else. I happen to really like articles like this,  so I might be a bit biased, but author Andy Hartup actually makes some really good points about multiplayer gaming and why he thinks Battlefield trumps all.

When you get right down to it, he loves the nitty-gritty of sneaking up on another player and taking them out before they even knew what hit them- and stealing their dogtags. I’m not really a multiplayer guy at all (for a few of the reasons Hartup cites here), but even I have to say that he makes tag-collecting sound pretty awesome.

GTA 5 Spoilercast

*WARNING* Do not, under any circumstances listen to this special presentation of the Spoilercast unless you’ve satisfactorily had your fill of Grand Theft Auto V.

Seriously, GR spills the beans and talks about all the aspects of the game’s campaign here, so don’t listen unless you don’t mind knowing everything about the plot.

There’s not too much to say other than that- so click here, if you dare…

Those are the best of the best from GR this past week. Give ‘em a read and then feel free to chat ‘em up in the comments section below. We’ll see you back here on Saturday Radar next weekend!

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
