Gamescom: DICE unloads new Battlefield 4 news

Some brand new Battlefield 4 Premium and multiplayer news charged out of EA’s Gamescom press conference today.

The newest title in the Battlefield series, B4 will have some brand new multiplayer goodies and will once again feature a Premium subscription. Players who subscribe to the service will receive a five-pack of maps including Battlefield 4 China Rising, Battlefield 4 Second Assault, Battlefield 4 Naval Strike, Battlefield 4 Dragon’s Teeth and Battlefield 4 Final Stand. What’s more, you’ll also be able to snag all of them two weeks before everybody else. Premium will cost you $49.99.

Also announced today was the new map Paracel Storm and the Obliteration gameplay mode.

Set in the south of the China Sea, Paracel Storm focuses heavily on naval warfare with DICE delivering the all-out war experience players expect from Battlefield. Gamers will not only battle their enemies, they’re also up against mother nature as the environment becomes more hostile transitioning from a calm sunny day to a heavy rainstorm with high winds and rough waters.

In Obliteration mode, you’ll be going up against your enemies with the task of taking them out with some heavy ordinance. Bombs are placed in a central area in Obliteration, with you and your opponents racing towards them. After you grab them (via any means necessary) you then have to drop them off at enemy targets. Get killed and your explosives get returned to the drop point, meaning you’ll have to go get ’em all over again.

Battlefield 4 arrives this October 29th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with PS4 and Xbox One editions landing in November.
