Assassin’s Creed 4 raises the flag on new trailer

Ubisoft released a brand new trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag today with what looks to be plenty of gameplay footage and piratin’ a plenty.

AC4 goes back in time a little bit more to before the events of AC3 to the hey day of pirates and colonial troops locking horns on the high seas. So far, Ubisoft has shown off a decent amount of the game and it’s looking like pirating is indeed the focal point of the fourth numbered entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

In fact, from what we’ve seen so far from the game, AC4 might just be the biggest departure for the series since it’s maiden voyage with not all that much emphasis on the actual assassin theme- at least that’s the way it looks in the first few looks at the series’ newest hero Edward Kenway.

Whether that evolves at all from now till launch is something that we’ll have to wait and see, though with E3 not too far off I would expect to see a whole lot more from AC4 real soon.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is expected to ship out for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on October 29th.
