Sonic the Hedgehog speeds onto iOS/Android

Odd as it might seem, Sega’s original Hedgehog title isn’t currently available on mobiles. That is, however, a fact that’s about to change.

The original title first appeared on the Sega Genesis way back in 1991 and has since shown up on pretty much every digital platform known to man. There’s a bunch of Sonic games available right now on both Android and iOS devices too, but not the original.

When Sonic the Hedgehog finally does zoom onto handsets this Spring, it’ll run at a silky smooth 60fps, have a remastered soundtrack, and an all new time-attack mode. So patient Sonic fans will get a little extra for waiting for the little blue guy to show up on their favorite mobile device.

Look for Sonic the Hedgehog to grab the App Store and the Marketplace by the rings this Spring from Sega for $2.99 USD.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
