GameStop Lets You Get on the Wii U Waiting List If You’re a PowerUp Rewards Member

GameStop, the world’s leading video game retailer, has ceased its pre-orders on the new Nintendo console.  They are however, giving consumers a chance to get on the waiting list — if you are a PowerUp Rewards member.

In the GameStop FAQ, GameStop tells consumers that the waitlist is for PowerUp Rewards members only, but does say that this is no guarantee that one would get the device.

A public outcry will more than likely happen, as hating on GameStop is something all the cool kids do.  The FAQ also doesn’t indicate that you have to have the paid membership either, as GameStop does offer a free tier to their rewards program.

The kid said, “Get ready cause this ain’t funny
My name’s Mike D. and I’m about to get money.”
Pulled out the jammy aimed it at the sky
He yelled, “Stick ’em up!” and let two fly
Hands went up and people hit the floor
He wasted two kids that ran for the door
“I’m Mike D. and I get respect
Your cash and your jewelry is what I expect”
