Ubisoft hints at a possible next-gen release for Watch Dogs.
Without a doubt one of the most interesting titles shown during E3 this year was Watch Dogs. However after the demo ended during Ubisoft’s press conference we were left scratching our heads because the company completely failed to mention what platforms the game was coming to. Ubisoft president Yves Guillemot has since confirmed that it will be released on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, but also hinted that Watch Dogs might also show up somewhere else.
When asked to confirm which formats the game was scheduled for Guillemot replied “PS3, 360, PC” adding, “and… we’ll see” with a grin.
It’s impossible to say what “we’ll see” means, but speculation suggests that he is hinting at a next-gen Xbox or PlayStation release due to the incredible visuals seen in the demo. It’s also possible that he is simply referring to a Wii U release, which would make sense considering Ubisoft is looking like Nintendo’s biggest third-party support right now and the company has already confirmed that Watch Dogs will use Microsoft’s Smart Glass app (which is very similar in function to the Wii U GamePad).
As more information comes in concerning Watch Dogs’ release date and targeted platforms you will find it at Brutal Gamer.
