Bethesda Forums Hacked

Bethesda warned their forum users late last week that they had identified a “potential breach” of their forum database. User passwords were encrypted on the database, however the company has reset all forum passwords as a precaution.

Users will be prompted to make new passwords for their accounts through the “I’ve forgotten my password” link the next time they attempt to log on.

While the last several weeks have been fairly quite this attack on Bethesda’s servers is the latest in a long list of video game companies that have suffered a cyber attack in 2011. Other companies who have been hit this year include; Sony, Nintendo, Codemasters, SEGA, Nintendo, and Epic Games to name a few.
