Valve squashes Episode 3 rumor

Hold on though PC gamers there may be more for you.

Speculation has been rife sicne Valve announced it’s intention to reveal something completely awesome at this years E3.

Most speculation has been aimed squarely at either Half Life 3 or Half Life 2: Episode 3.  My money was on Half Life 3 to be honest.  Well the PS3 hating Gabe Newell has sent an short but concise IM to the baying hordes on HalfLife2.net.  This message simply stated “it isn’t Ep3″.  So that rumour is well and truly squashed, right?  Well what about Half Life 3 then?

Well it has allegedly been confirmed to a strictly PS3/Xbox 360 based journalist that the E3 “surprise” won’t be of any interest to him or his readers.  So we are potentially looking at a PC only announcement from Valve – they would be crazy to exclude consoles from Half Life 3 right?  Anyone else smell a Counter Strike relaunch in the breeze?  We will have to wait for E3 to hear the rest – luckily that is only a week away now!
