The Time Lord is coming to a Nintendo system near you soon.
If you own a Wii or a Nintendo DS, and are a fan of Doctor Who, then you could be in for a treat as is has been reported in The Sun that Nintendo have signed a £10m contract with the BBC that will see a Doctor Who game brought to Nintendo consoles just in time for Christmas.
The game will feature the latest incarnation of The Doctor, played by Matt Smith. Getting the game off the ground has been reportedly tricky as developers that have been spoken to about a possible game wanted The Doctor to attack his enemies and blow things up, which is not what the character is about.
The previous Doctor, David Tennant, said “The video game was quite actively developed, but it’s difficult to nail as the Doctor doesn’t blow things up. He’s not Batman, who goes around smacking people in the head.”
An insider said “This has been in the pipeline for years. We’re delighted to have finally nailed down a deal. We went with Nintendo as they have huge appeal for families and Doctor Who is very much a family brand.”
If Nintendo are developing this, it could be very good indeed. If not, it might just be another bit of shovelware on the Wii and DS. Time will tell. (Pun not intended.)

[UPDATE] MCV have confirmed that this is indeed true, and the game is scheduled for release in October, with sales and marketing being handeled by Koch Media.
