Left 4 Dead 2 receives first update through Steam

A few days into its release and the first patch has already arrived.

Some say that if you release a patch this early into the games public release you let it be released with problems while others say that its simply supporting there titles. Either way, stop your bitching and go buy this fantastic game, you’re seriously missing out on some zombie fun.

Valve have just released the first patch for its zombie-apocalypse coop shooter, this patch is only available for PC users and fixes some minor bugs which the majority of you playing it probably haven’t even noticed yet – either way, its free and will download automatically when you next go to boot up the game/or Steam.

The patch notes are below:

  • Fixed performance problem when rendering lots of decals, notably when fighting tanks with shotguns
  • Fixed rcon response not working on Linux dedicated servers
  • Fixed matchmaking problem matching into Advanced and Expert games
  • Fix bug that would cause other specials to try to pummel a player a Charger disconnects or reconnects
  • Fixed versus mode results panel being cut off in transition stats screen in non-english
  • Found games: fixed non-player entries drawing the wrong type of icon in the selected item name label
  • Game mode selector on main menu now takes keyboard input
