Facebook Coming To PS3 Firmware 3.10 Preview Image

But is the much desired cross game chat feature coming with it?  Don’t be silly.

Fantastic news if your name is Viatrophy.  Sony have announced details on the PlayStation blog of what the next PS3 firmware – version 3.10 to be precise – will contain.  The major update is that Facebook integration will be included in the update.  Have you been watching Microsoft, Sony?

Linking your PSN account to your Facebook page will allow the news feed on your profile to be updated with trophies and PlayStation Store activities, as well as allowing developers to be able to have their games publish information to your news feed.

Other changes include the following: -

  • The Photo category on the XMB has been revamped to make it easier to see more of your photos stored on the PS3.
  • The PSN Friends List has been modified based on feedback we received after update 3.00. Additionally, you can now choose a color for your PSN ID on the XMB.
  • Here’s a little video preview of the new firmware.
