Counterstrike, Portal, TF2 are all large names, mostly on PC, where the market is in flux atm. I agree this is highly unlikely but a whole lot of people are looking at Valve and thinking "mine?" in a Seagull from Nemo kinda way. EA prob don;t have the coin (not without seriously thrownign caution to the wind). Zenmax ranks the likes of Robert Altman, Jerry Bruckheimer, Harry Sloan and Robert Trump in it's board of directors - there be some serious cash there my friend ;) And a digital platform for secure ditribution would be ideal fodder for movie comapanies looking into their own video content distribution.. am I right??? There are rumours about Valve being bought out every few months, so far this year we've seen rumours about both Google and EA buying Valve. They've always been known as an independent company, so I don't see them changing it. Also, do Zenimax even have the dolla' to buy Valve? The franchises they own (Half Life, Counter Strike etc.) must be worth a killing on there own, let alone the development studios that are under Valve's wing. And as Steam is also a part of Valve... y'know, like the biggest digital distribution platform, that surely must be worth a pretty penny too? I really don’t see this happening.
