Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 given 18 rating

The most “adult” rated COD yet.

You know the release dates are getting close when you start seeing the official ratings given to the titles.  The BBFC have just passed Modern Warfare 2 (notice the omission of Call of Duty!) an 18 rating for “Strong, bloody violence” – sweet!

The game is still due to hit on November 10th on all three platforms (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) despite rumors earlier this month of a PC slip.  This is the first COD title to garner any more than an official 15 from the BBFC (WAW fact fans!) so let’s see what Infinity Ward do with this new found adult material… will it just be more excessive gore or will it be used in context?  Knowing IW I would guess the graphic nature of the title will be in context with the setting but you never know… perhaps they have gone Painkiller on the title!?
