Guitar Hero 5 DLC ‘Not Backwards Compatible’
Perhaps you’d like to consider upgrading?
If you own the original Rock Band, you may be aware that all DLC tracks released since Rock Band 2 came out are compatible with the original version, which is great if you want new music but don’t fancy the Rock Band 2 setlist.
If you own Guitar Hero: World Tour, however, sadly you won’t have that luxury when Guitar Hero 5 comes out, as Activision have said that Guitar Hero 5 DLC will not be compatible with World Tour, so you will need to buy Guitar Hero 5 if you want to play those songs. Activision have stated that the reason for this is that the new features in GH5 will mean the tracks just aren’t compatible with World Tour.
On the plus side, they have also said that GH5 DLC will work with future Guitar Hero games and Band Hero, and that any World Tour DLC you have will work with GH5. So you won’t have to use the World Tour disc, unless you want to play songs off that game.
