Avatars to appear Guitar Hero 5
It’s been announced that the upcoming Guitar Hero 5 is to include avatar support. More specifically, you’re avatars will be shredding it up on stage as you play through the game. The avatars will be customisable within the game with Guitar Hero items and clothing. Players will also be able to include their friends avatars as backing members, or ditch them in favour of more established characters from the Guitar Hero franchise. All that’s missing is the mini game where you’re less than straight edge avatar announces he’s quitting his band to shack up with a bigger, better bunch of rockstars, much to the chagrin of your friends avatars.. maybe in 6?
As a franchise, Guitar Hero never grabbed me. However, incorporating the avatars sounds like a really smart move. It would be great ot see more big retail releases go down this road, in particular the game specific customisation. Guitar Hero 5 is will be released this September.
