You’ve gotta love those demos which actually last longer than 5 minutes.

Codemasters has announced that a demo for it’s open world, record breaking racing game “FUEL” will be hitting Xbox Live, Playstation Network and PC sometime today. It’s quite a big download though… it’s a massive 1.1GB, so you may want to download it before you go to work etc. and leave it going, unless you have some crazy Internet, unlike us people in the UK who still use carrier pigeons for Internet connection.

The demo gives you access to a fair amount of content, letting you take part in “Ocean Rush” and “Blitz” 2 single player events which will either have you racing against the clock through the vast open landscape or in a straight up race for 1st place against 7 other racers.  The demo will also give you access to the “Tsunami Reef” online race with up to 16 other players although this is only available for within the first 2 weeks of the games console release and you’ll also be able to challenge players in the Ocean Rush event too. Good amount of content for a demo fo’sho.

Been playing around with the demo a fair bit myself (Xbox 360 version) and I am pleasantly surprised. It’s not quite DiRT standard but definitely worth a download (and even a purchase!)
