Celebrate your Independence Day with Gears of War 2 double exp

Need something to do this weekend? Gears of War 2 is going to be celebrating Independence Day weekend in it’s own special little way.

As we report a few weeks back, Gears of War 2 will be receiving it’s 4th title update for the game adding more ways to gain exp towards those precious online levels and fixing those incredibly annoying glitches which keep appearing. The update will be hitting Live in the next few days, and just in time for the double exp event Epic is holding for Gears of War 2 to celebrate your Independence Day weekend.

Not only will you be getting double exp in all game modes (both horde and ranked) players who are on the winning team will receive a 500 exp point bonus each match. They’ll also be adding a bit of flare into the horde game mode for just this weekend, every time you hit the 10th wave you’ll no-longer be dealing with those incredibly frustrating bloodmounts, you’ll have to face a whole waves’ worth of tickers, and only tickers. They’ll also be making more of an appearance each round, it’s the closest they can get to fireworks, although these fireworks are even more deadly – nothing like an exploding enemy.
