If you own Resistance 2, looks like you’re in for some downloading today. Insomniac will be releasing some new content for the game today in the form of some new DLC and a patch.

The first, and biggest, DLC will be the ‘Aftermath Map Pack’. This will cost $5.99 and will include 3 new multiplayer battlefields, which will support 20-player Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes. One of the maps called ‘Outpost’ will let you play 20-player Core Control games as well.

In addition to this, there will be six new character skins for multiplayer, at a cost of $0.99 each.

Meanwhile, Patch 1.50 will 2 new game modes into the game. The first is ‘Meltdown Mode’, in which teams try to take control of a map by capturing beacons. The second new mode will be ‘Superhuman Co-Op Mode’ which brings a higher difficulty level for 8 player co-op, where there will be tougher enemies and no auto-respawns. There will also be fixes and other features such as support for a second PSN login.
