Wii SD Card Upgrade Announced
Some of you may remember a while ago that Nintendo said that they were going to announce a solution to the storage problems of their Wii system. Well, now Nintendo have finally told us what their solution is, and I have to admit, this idea never crossed my mind.
At the start of his keynote at the GDC, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has announced that firmware updates are now available for the Wii and DSi. This new firmware now gives the Wii the ability to run Virtual Console and WiiWare games directly from an SD card, eliminating the problem of having to move games to and from the SD card and the Wii system to use them. About bloody time, Nintendo!
The new Wii firmware is said to support SD cards of up to 32GB and can use a maximum of 240 Virtual Console and WiiWare games. Time to play Mario Kart 64, methinks!
