PlayStation fails to get a life – yet!

So, the great Sony branded delay train leaves the terminal once again headed for cock-up central (you can tell which one it is as it has a red ring around it).  Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has announced, via their Senior Development Manager of R & D Noam Rimon, that the terribly named “Life with PlayStation” product will be delayed once again.  So what’s the deal with this product and the new release date…?

Announced by Kaz Hirai in late June 2008 this product aims to scale the dizzy heights of the Wii News and Weather channels.  The program aims to deliver up to date news & weather direct to your XMB. It will show you a very nicely rendered vision of the world in which we live and you can rotate the globe to your hearts content reading stories and getting weather from where ever you so choose.

Sony made a loose release promise for Life with Playstation stating during E3 that it would be arriving in July 08.  July passed and Sony mentioned “a few procedural matters” as the delay and pushed the launch to August 08.  now as the calendar aware amongst you have probably noticed we are now in September and still no release.  Sony are now giving no firm release date but are re-affirming that the product will be 100% free to all.

The real issue is – do we really care?
