Far Cry 2 Follow-Up Already In Development

For a game which has not been released yet to have a sequel already in the ‘prelimary stages’ of development is almost unheard of before now. Far Cry 2 is getting a lot of attention recently with it’s open world gameplay and amazing map editor, Ubisoft must have realised this is a going to be a major hit so they might as well get going on the next one early.  Patrick Redding, Ubisoft Montreal narrative designer, discussed the sequel at this years Leipzig Games Convention, he mentioned that it will probably be based in Africa again so to continue the story. He also discussed the idea of an ‘Antarctic’ game, which to me personally sounds quite dull. Far Cry 2 looks brilliant and the prospect of a sequel already is simply amazing. Far Cry 2 is due to be released on 31st October 2008.
